Open the file in 3DS Max
Remove extra elements from the model to make the model lighter and smooth
Extra roads should be removed
Remove extra vehicles (if possible, remove all the vehicles as they have a huge polycount)
Remove trees (if possible, remove all the trees as trees have a huge polycount)
Remove other stray elements
Replace all the VRay materials that are applied to the model with standard materials. The file format of the texture should be .tga
Now export the model as FBX to a location and copy all the respective textures to this same location i.e. FBX model and all the textures applied are in the same directory. (refer screenshot below)
Make sure that the texture path is set to this folder. In case the path is not set, please follow below mentioned steps to set the correct path:
Select the complete model
Press Shift+T
Select all the textures and right click. Select Set Path from the options. (refer screenshot below)
Enter the path of the folder where FBX file is placed. (refer screenshot below)
Click OK button to set the path.
Set the pivot of the complete model to 0,0,0.
Goto Customize -> Preferences. Click on Files tab and select ‘Compress on Save’ option. This will compress and reduce the size of the model. (refer screenshot below)
The model is now ready to be viewed in Trezi.
