Install and use the Trezi plugin for Rhinoceros 3D
Trezi, as of version 1.5, supports loading Rhinoceros 3D (hereon called as Rhino) models through the Trezi plugin for Rhino.
Please
note that the Trezi plugin for Rhino is currently in alpha - it is rough
around the edges. Please let us know your feedback on it.
Requirements
Trezi plugin for Rhino currently supports Rhino version 6 only.
Please note that Trezi needs a functional installation of Rhino on the system for the Trezi plugin to work - Rhino needs to be installed before the Trezi plugin.
Installing the Trezi plugin for Rhino
- Go to the Trezi tab in Trezi launcher - it is the second tab from the top
- Click the install plugin button under Trezi plugin for Rhino section
- You'll see a dialog box as shown below here. Hit the next button to allow installation.
- You'll need to restart Rhino if it is already running to register the plugin
Manual installation of Trezi plugin for Rhino
If you need to install Trezi plugin for Rhino on a system that does not have Trezi installed or the standard installation procedure does not work, you can follow these steps to install the plugin manually:
- Download the plugin installation package from here:
- Extract the contents of the downloaded compressed file (you can use a free tool like 7-zip for extraction)
- Locate the "Trezi_26_August.rhi" file from the Rhino folder that was extracted in step 2 and double click to run the plugin installer. Please note that you need to have Rhino installed on your system for this step to work.
- Hit the next button to allow installation.
Using the Trezi plugin for Rhino
- Start Rhino and right click on the toolbar
- Select 'Show or Hide Tabs', scroll to the bottom of the list and select 'Trezi' under 'Trezi plugin for Rhino' section.
- You'll now see the 'Trezi' tab in the tab bar with the 'View in Trezi' button
- Open a Rhino file that you wish to view in Trezi, and hit the 'View in Trezi' button.
- Select the tessellation level for your model and select 'OK'. If you are not sure what level to select, leave it at the default value.
- Trezi launcher should now open and take you to the 'Create new' section in the 'Projects' tab.
- Assign a name for the workspace and hit the 'Start processing' button.
- Once the processing is done, you can use the 'Launch in Desktop' or 'Launch in VR' button to start viewing the model in Trezi viewer.
