Measure distances

Measure distances

You can measure distances by using the Measure tool. You can create multiple measurement lines in a model and they are saved as part of the workspace. Measurement lines can be created in both single user sessions or collaborative meetings. Here are the steps to use the Measure tool:

  1. Select the Measure tool from Collab menu.

  1. You'll see the Measure tool window. Click on the 'Create new' button to start measuring.

  1. You can now start clicking in the world to define measurement segments. Click on the 'Stop measuring' button to end the line. You can use the 'Delete current' button to cancel the process and delete the line created so far. While you are drawing, you'll see the length of the segments in the world shown between the two points and the overall length in the Measure tool window.

  1. You can create multiple measurement lines in a model. Selecting an existing measurement line by clicking on it will open the measure tool window again with the option to delete the selected measurement line or create a new one.

  1. You can toggle the visibility of the measurement lines by turning them on or off from the layers window (View menu > Layers)
